Lionel Messi plans Barcelona exit with superstar 'fed up' of blame game in Spain

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi plans to quit the club at the end of his contract next summer, according to a report.

The Argentinian has a year left on his deal and could have left for free in June with a clause in his contract allowing him to leave the Nou Camp on June 10 every summer.

He decided against that but is growing frustrated at being blamed for everything that goes wrong at the club with the Catalan giants falling behind Real Madrid in the title race.

And now Catalan radio station Cadena Sar insists Messi will leave Barcelona next summer and head for a new challenge at the age of 33.

Messi is also frustrated at various other issues at the club, including constant leaks and a strange atmosphere that exists in the dressing room.

And the report states that Messi has halted contract talks ahead of next summer and it looks like he will move on.

Growing tension with head coach Quique Sentien and sporting director Eric Abidal are well known, while Messi is also frustrated Neymar wasn’t brought back to the club.

Messi has also been accused by people behind the scenes of influencing team selection so players he likes, such as Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal play, while Antoine Griezmann is often left on the bench.

The forward netted the 700th goal of his career with a stunning panenka against Atletico Madrid but that couldn't help Barca from falling four points behind Real Madrid at the top of the table.
