A behind-closed-doors pitch invader tried his best to get close to Lionel Messi as the Barcelona icon helped his side to victory with a goal and two assists at Mallorca on his return to La Liga action.
The young fan wearing a Messi Argentina shirt emerged from the stands at the San Moix stadium midway through the second half of Saturday's clash, in which Barca ultimately ran out 4-0 winners.
The fan ran towards Messi but was stopped by security staff wearing masks before being escorted off the pitch.
Back on the field of play, Barca had taken just over 60 seconds to take the lead in their first match since a 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad at the Nou Camp on March 7.
Some quick interplay between Quique Setien's side led to the ball reaching Jordi Alba on the left, and his pinpoint cross was headed in by an onrushing Arturo Vidal for the opening goal.
Shortly before the break it was two as Messi - who had been taking up a noticeably deeper position in the buildup - nodded the ball into the path of the former Middlesbrough forward Martin Braithwaite, and the surprise February signing thumped an effort high into the net for his first Barcelona goal.
In the second period, Barca were able to introduce the fit-again Luis Suarez for his first appearance since January, but it was Alba who made it 3-0 when he raced onto a stunning Messi through ball and finished accurately.
Suarez then teed up Messi to fire home the fourth in stoppage time.
The win takes Barca five points clear at the top of the La Liga table, with second-placed Real Madrid returning to action at home to Eibar on Sunday.
