Lionel Messi insits getting along with PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe has been "easy" and is delighted that the French hotshot did not depart the club during the summer transfer window.
The pair are expected to spearhead a team which is tasked with delivering Champions League glory to the French capital.
Speaking in to France Football Magazine, he said: "“With a player like him (Mbappé), it’s easy to get along with.
“He also speaks perfect Spanish, so we’ve also talked a lot outside of the pitch. That makes it easy. I have recently arrived and it is still premature to draw conclusions, but I am sure it will go well"
World Cup winner Mbappe was heavily linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid in the summer, but Messi denied having any discussions with his new teammate about any potential transfer.
“I had just arrived and did not know him well enough to give him advice".
"A bit like everyone else, I was waiting to see what would happen. He stayed and for me it is a great joy."
Messi also spoke about how his new life in the French capital.
He added: "“Today I am very happy to be here. It is a new life experience, a great change and I try, little by little, to adapt.
“We are still at the hotel and it is starting to get long. The boys (he has three children) have started school and it is not easy to make the round trip from the hotel. We are looking forward to settling into our new house and being able to start the new routine."
The Barcelona icon also told the magazine about his relief at finally getting his hands on the Copa America with his national team in July.
He added: “I would have had a strange feeling inside of me if I had finished my career without having won a title with my country. It was the title that I was missing."
