Both Barcelona manager Quique Setien and former vice-president Emili Rousaud have stated their belief that Lionel Messi will renew his contract at the club, despite the current in-fighting at the Nou Camp.
Messi's current deal runs out in the summer of 2021, when the six-time Ballon d'Or winner would be able to walk away from his club of over 20 years on a free transfer.
There are bound to be plenty of suitors for the Argentinean despite the fact that he turns 33 in the summer, but Setien is sure that the current situation at the club won't cause their crown jewel to look elsewhere.
"These are normal things at big clubs," Setien told TV3. "Perhaps the sad thing is that these crises are transmitted to the media.
"It would be better to work in a quieter environment but things are like that.
"I don't think what happened has made a player like Messi rethink whether or not to [stay with] the club. I am sure he will finish his career at Camp Nou."
In addition, Rousaud - who has accused the Barca board of corruption and claimed that someone on the board had "their hand in the till" when it came to club funds, something the board deny - thinks Messi will stay, and added that he expects the club to move for Neymar again in the summer, when the affect of the coronavirus pandemic will be being felt in the transfer market.
"I think Messi and Barcelona will reach an agreement over a renewal," Rousaud told ESPN Deportes.
"To reach an agreement, the two parties must make some kind of concession, but I would be very surprised if this beautiful story did not continue for longer."
On Neymar, he added: "I think it's possible that Neymar could return in the summer. It does not seem to me an impossibility at all.
"I have a feeling that the pandemic will lead to some deflation in player prices, which is good for buyers but bad for sellers. We will have to see how all these factors are rebalanced."
