Andy Robertson has opened up on a bittersweet night for him last year when Liverpool came back from behind to beat Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Liverpool lost the first leg 3-0 before winning 4-0 at home, only for Robertson to suffer an injury which could have knocked him out of the final against Tottenham.
Robertson ended up featuring in the final as the Reds beat Spurs to lift the prestigious competition and year on he was asked about the famous night at Anfield which secured passage through to the final.
The Scottish left-back was quick to hail both Barcelona and star man Lionel Messi, both of whom have endured a disastrous end to their season.
Barcelona missed out on the La Liga title before sustaining an 8-2 hammering at the hands of Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals last week.
On playing against Barcelona and Messi and the bittersweet win at Anfield, Robertson told BT Sport : "Yes look, best players in the world. Messi is maybe the best player to ever play this game.
"When you get the chance to play these players you want to come out as good as you can do.

"Unfortunately it ended in injury for me. The 4-0 at home was an unbelievable night, a night that none of us will ever forget.
"But it was also one of the big worries for me. I never slept that night because the job was done and your mind automatically turns to the final. I thought, 'there's a chance I could miss it here'.
"Luckily everything was okay and I could play in the final. That night will be remembered for a long time. It's something the 55,000 at Anfield will never forget too."
