Lionel Messi back in Barcelona training just 11 days after suffering arm fracture

Lionel Messi is back in training for Barcelona just 11 days after suffering an arm fracture.

The Argentine attacker was injured after 15 minutes of the 4-2 La Liga win at home to Sevilla on October 20 and missed the games against Inter Milan on Wednesday and the Clasico victory versus Real Madrid on Sunday.

Barca originally said the 31-year-old would be sidelined for three weeks, but his speedy returns means he could feature earlier than expected – possibly against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Saturday or away to Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Although Barca beat Inter 2-0 without the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and then thrashed Madrid 5-1 in his absence, coach Ernesto Valverde said on Sunday night: “This week has strengthened us. But as soon as Messi is recovered, the better. We miss him.”

Barca revealed the Argentine had participated in Wednesday’s session with a post on social media, but gave no further details of his recovery process.
