Lionel Messi Attacks FC Barcelona In Passionate Luis Suarez Social Media Farewell

Lionel Messi has attacked FC Barcelona in a passionate farewell social media post dedicated to close friend Luis Suarez.

Taking to his Instagram account on Friday morning in Spain, the club’s captain began in a warm tone. “I’d already began to imagine it but today I went into the dressing room and it truly dawned on me. It’s going to be so difficult to not continue sharing every day with you both on the fields and away from them,” he wrote, alongside a snap of the pair in said location at the Camp Nou.

“We’re going to miss you so much. We spent many years together, drunk many mates [a popular South American tea], had many lunches and many dinners. So many things we will never forget, all the days we spent together.”

After getting the pleasantries out of the way, the Ballon d’Or holder then went about taking a dig at his employers, who until recently he also tried to leave after 20 years in Blaugrana colors.

“It will be strange to see you in another shirt and much more to come up against you on the pitch. You deserved a farewell that fits with who you are: one of the most important players in the history of the club. Someone who achieved great things for the team and on an individual level. You did not deserve for them to throw you out like they did. But the truth is that at this stage nothing surprises me anymore,” the 33-year-old concluded.

Reported as appearing “sad”, “affected” and “crestfallen” at Suarez’s mentioned departure ceremony yesterday, the number 10 was also made emotional by the Uruguayan saying: “My family know the suffering I experienced. But my children got to see me lift trophies, score goals, and they got to see me alongside the best in history [i.e. Messi]. That will stay in the memory.”

Those in attendance also noticed how the forward kept his distance from president Josep Bartomeu, who blocked his summer exit to Manchester City. And with this outburst today, it seems that Messi is still unhappy with life in the Catalan capital despite appearing in better spirits during preseason.

In June 2021, he might finally walk on a free for once and for all in light of seemingly irreparable damage in his relationship with FC Barcelona.
