
A Chinese lion dance performed as a prayer for an end to the novel coronavirus pandemic entertained visitors in Yokohama's Chinatown district Sunday.
With the bang of firecrackers, a yellow lion representing festivity and a blue lion representing the port town appeared before the Zenrinmon gate in town and danced for about 10 minutes, jumping around and pretending to bite the heads of onlookers.
"The performance was dynamic and encouraged me to go on and do my best," said a 37-year-old woman from Yokohama who saw the dance firsthand.
