A baby lion cub has been found by French authorities in a garage in Marseille, a day after another was found in Paris.
The city's customs brigade found a small female lioness inside a cage on Wednesday that weighed just "a few kilograms".
Experts say she is just one to two months old and has not been weaned.
A man who was placed in detention said he acquired the cub from some people in "a building" who said they did not know how to look after a wild cat, the agency said.
The customs agency says the feline was immediately handed over to France's animal protection group for specialised care.
It comes after French police seized a lion cub from an apartment in Paris on Tuesday. The young lioness was found in a child's bed.
Its owner, a 30-year-old man who was known to police, was arrested.
Police were alerted to the animal by videos on social media in which she was offered for sale for around €10,000 (£8,889).
