Members of a Slimming World group in Linwood have been stepping out, raising their heart rates and raising money for Cancer Research UK.
The group walked along a cycle path from Linwood to Johnstone and back - covering four and a half miles and Raising more than £150 for Cancer Research UK.
Throughout August, members of the Linwood group have been taking part in Slimming World's national ‘It’s A Kind of Magic’ campaign to get moving more and embrace the company’s Body Magic Programme.

Consultant Louise O’Neill, who has run the Linwood group for nearly 14 years, says: “Our members are enjoying discovering and rediscovering the joy and lifelong benefits of our activity programme.
"Body Magic is tailored for everyone and is based on our deep understanding of the psychology of behaviour change.
"It is designed to be at each of our members' pace to fit their lifestyle for their healthy slim-for-life future.
“Many members and potential members tell me that they want to get more active, and they want support with a physical activity programme that’s enjoyable, fun and easy to follow.

“It’s so easy to get started with our new activity videos too, members can access more than 60 fun, easy-to-follow videos suitable for all fitness levels via our website and app. These, alongside our incredibly generous and flexible eating plan called Food Optimising, are a recipe for success.”
Slimming World member Megann Simpson said: “The sun shone it was just fabulous to be out in the fresh air and chat with each other.
“I got to meet members from other sessions which was lovely-the sense of community across all the Linwood Slimming World groups is amazing."
Megann joined the group in April and has successfully lost nearly three and a half stone in four months and she was also awarded the Woman of the Year 2022 award by her fellow members during their 7pm session.
She added: “I could never have done this without the group. Louise and all the members were so welcoming when I joined. I was so nervous - and there really was no need.
"The support, friendship and help I’ve received have blown me away.
“The group is with me every step of the way. We are an amazing team, encouraging, motivating and inspiring each other each week.”
Within just three months of joining Slimming World, 66 per cent of members do enough physical activity to be classed as active and, according to Slimming World, compared to the general population, they’re less sedentary and feel more positive about physical activity, saying it makes them feel more happy, healthy, confident, and better about their body.
