Linlithgow Rose boss Gordon Herd hailed his side’s performance as they ended 2022 with an emphatic 5-1 win at Broxburn Athletic.
Five different players found the net for the East of Scotland Premier Division leaders - who also hit the bar three times.
Mark Stowe got the ball rolling with a fine finish on 18 minutes but Errol Douglas quickly replied with a header for Athletic.
Calum Bremner curled home from the edge of the box on the stroke of half-time before Linlithgow found the net three more times after the break.
Sean Heaver tapped home to make it 3-1 on 50 minutes before Ben Davidson’s drive added to the advantage with a late Sandy Cunningham header rounding off the scoring.
A delighted Herd said: “I thought we were outstanding. We dominated in scoring five goals and we hit the woodwork three times.
“It’s the response we wanted because we didn’t really have a good December but we ended the year with a bang.
“It’s probably one of our best performances since we came in, especially given we had five guys out.
“The calibre of goals was brilliant. Coming into the game there was a couple of guys with a bit of a confidence crisis but we were looking for a big performance and they didn’t let us down.”
