Linlithgow Rose boss Brown Ferguson hails side's resilience in unbeaten start

Linlithgow Rose boss Brown Ferguson hailed his side’s resilience as they picked up a draw at Sauchie to remain unbeaten.

The Rose had got themselves in front through Jonny Court before being pegged back in the second half and having to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Ferguson said: “We’re unbeaten and picked up a point at Sauchie, which is a notoriously difficult place to go, and performed really well.

“I’m disappointed we didn’t pick up the three points as it was a very one-sided draw but I’m delighted with the character and resilience of the players during a sticky patch with injuries and players unavailable.”

He added: “Last Tuesday, we had 11 players unavailable and I’ve never known anything like that let alone the second game of the season.

“To be struggling for numbers like that and still put in a performance like we did on Saturday is great to see.

“We have a few guys coming back for the game against Inverkeithing on Saturday and hopefully we can be a bit more clinical in front of goal.

“It’s a game we should be looking to pick up three points and if we can do that then you’d have to say it’s a pleasing start to the season.”
