Linlithgow Rose announce seven new signings and three new contracts as they bid for East of Scotland success

Linlithgow Rose strengthened their squad with the addition of seven new signings last night.

And as well as the new arrivals at Prestonfield, three key players from last season’s cup double winning side have penned new deals to keep them at the club.

Gordon Herd’s side fell just shy of claiming the East of Scotland Premier Division title last term after a disappointing end to the league campaign, but they were able to lift some silverware for the first time in eight years with East of Scotland Qualifying Cup and East of Scotland League Cup success.

Former Stirling Albion and Albion Rovers keeper Cameron Binnie highlighted the new septet, with Scotland Schools internationalist keeper Matthew Wallace also putting pen to paper with his hometown club.

The keeper helped guide Linlithgow Academy to Senior Shield glory earlier this year.

The Rose strengthened their defensive ranks with the acquisitions of former Bo’ness United defender Greg Skinner and Alex Webb, who arrives from Newtongrange Star.

Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale skipper Sandy Cunningham has signed a multi-year deal while Ben Davidson also provides midfield options after joining from Stirling University.

Former Clyde striker Owen Andrew also arrives at Prestonfield. The 20-year-old featured 15 times for the League One outfit last term.

Prolific striker Alan Docherty has agreed to extend his stay with the club while Alan Sneddon and Callum Bremner have also signed new deals.

Departing the club is Willis Hare, who has signed for Dunbar United, while Nicky Riley and Somina Dublin-Green will also be leaving Linlithgow at the end of their contracts.
