Linlithgow Rose 0 Hearts 6 in pictures as Liam Boyce double helps Jambos to easy friendly win

After a false start on Friday night after five positive Covid tests were confirmed, Hearts hit the goal trail in their first pre-season friendly of the summer.

The Premiership new boys were due to play Berwick Rangers and Shielfield Park, but the game had to be scrapped after the coronavirus break out..

With Robbie Neilson sidelined due to Covid issues, Under 18 coach John Rankin took the Tynecastle team as they hit Linlithgow Rose for six at Prestonfield.

A start XI that featured a blend of youth and experience, including the lesser-spotted Loic Damour, had far too much for their East of Scotland Premier Division opponents and ran out easy winners.

Youngster Finlay Pollock opened the scoring with a stunner before Liam Boyce doubled the advantage from the penalty spot.

Compatriot Michael Smith made it three with another fine strike before another Boyce spot-kick made it 4-0 before half-time.

Armand Gnanduillet got in on the act after the break, sliding in to net Hearts' fifth.

And youngster Makenzie Kirk - son of former Hearts striker Andy - rounded off the scoring with his first senior goal.
