Linlithgow footballer Scott Banks seals dream move from Dundee United to English Premiership side Crystal Palace

Scotland under-19 international Scott Banks has completed a move from Dundee United to English Premiership side Crystal Palace.

The highly rated 18-year-old, from Linlithgow, made his debut for United this term having spent last season on loan at Clyde but has opted for the move south and has called the move a 'no-brainer'.

He said: "There’s no bigger stage I’d want to play on. It’s a big step up coming from Scotland.

“When you hear about that interest (from Crystal Palace) you want to pursue that, and push myself to the highest level.

“So it was a no brainer that this was the place for me."

Banks knocked back a new deal at Tannadice earlier in the season as a number of sides chased his signature.

The fee is believed to be well in excess of the £200,000 United would have been entitled to as compensation had he left at the end of the season.
