A woman has been taken to hospital after police were called to Musselburgh's Linkfield Road earlier this morning.
Officers closed the busy road between Levenhall Links and Newbigging after reports of concern for a female in the area. The route was shut off shortly after 7am and traffic was diverted via Newbigging and Pinkie Road.
Police arrived on the scene at around 7.10am and tended to the woman. She has since been taken to hospital for assessment.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland says the road was temporarily closed but has since been reopened to motorists. Traffic was back running on the route shortly after 9am.
