Social media: Professional social networking service LinkedIn plans to create 100 new jobs in Dublin over the next 12 months, reports the Press Association. The jobs will include graduate and experienced staff positions in areas such as sales, business development, marketing, customer services, finance, HR and operations. More than 15 of those posts are already open.
Music: Audio branding specialist PH Media Group is creating 20 jobs with the launch of a new London office. The company provides audio played to telephone callers who are put on hold or over speakers while they shop, according to the Manchester Evening News. The roles being created include marketing, business development, client services and administration. Music producers and copywriters are also being sought to produce the company's bespoke audio products.
Training: Work-based learning provider ACT is creating 100 new jobs after securing a new £19m contract with the Welsh Assembly Government, according to WalesOnline. ACT will recruit 50 trainers and assessors directly for positions based across south Wales and a further 50 will be taken on by its network of partners and contractors in different parts of Wales.
Jobs scheme: A new initiative that promises to create jobs for young unemployed people in London has been launched, reports the BBC. Up to 2,000 people will be recruited through the Young Working London scheme over the next three years. The scheme will promote training, mentoring and work experience and target the capital's most deprived areas.
Retail: The redevelopment of a garden centre will create 50 new jobs in Worthing. Haskins Garden Centre will start recruiting in September for an additional 50 full-time and part-time jobs in time for an official opening in March next year, reports The Argus. Work will start in April to build the new centre on 15 acres of land behind the existing garden centre.
