Linfield vs Tre Fiori live stream hopes scuppered after arriving at Nyon venue

Linfield tv will show highlights of Saturday's Champions League qualifier with Tre Fiori.

The club had hoped to live stream the qualifying preliminary round semi-final, depending on the facilities at the Colovray Sports Centre in Nyon where the game will be played.

But after arriving at the venue on Friday it emerged that the pitch they will play on doesn't have the required internet connectivity to live stream a match.

Linfield expressed their disappointment but said they will show highlights later on Saturday.

"Linfield’s game will be on pitch number 6 but unfortunately, there is no internet connectivity for a live stream from this outer pitch," the club said on their website.

"This unfortunately means that in spite of our best intentions we will be unable to live stream this game.

" Linfield FC would therefore apologise for the disappointment this news will cause our many loyal fans but the circumstances are entirely outside our control.

"Our opponents are faced with a similar predicament.

"The later game between Drita of Kosovo and Inter Escalades of Andorra will take place at the main number 1 pitch in a stadium where the infrastructure is in place for a live stream."

If Linfield beat Tre Fiori, it is hoped that the club will be able to live stream the final next Tuesday.

"Should Linfield win tomorrow, the Final will take place at 6pm local time on Tuesday in the main stadium and this game will be live streamed by Linfield tv," the club said.

"Recorded highlights of tomorrow’s game will be broadcast as soon as possible after tomorrow’s game on Linfield tv.

"Match updates will be provided on official social media platforms during the course of tomorrow’s game."

The Blues added: "Linfield FC will share the frustration experienced by so many of our fans who had been looking forward to seeing the team return to UEFA Champions League action."
