Linfield vs Carrick Rangers live stream announced for Premiership opener

Linfield fans unable to get to Windsor Park for Saturday's Premiership opener will be able to watch the game live from the comfort of their homes.

The champions have announced a partnership between Linfield TV and 247.tv for the live steaming of the clash against Carrick Rangers.

Under current Covid-19 restrictions, there will be a reduced crowd in attendance at The National Football Stadium on Saturday.

Match tickets are only available to members/senior members and potentially to a small number of season ticket holders with effect from 9pm on Friday.

The club hopes the live stream will "make up for some of the disappointment sure to be felt by many supporters" unable to attend the game.

"The cost of the package is £7.50 per person clicking on the link on the 247.tv link," the club said.

"Match commentary and analysis will be by Jonny Martin and Philip Mitchell - both experienced within a BBC broadcasting background.

"There will be graphics and action replays.

"There will be half-time fillers and match video footage will be our usual experienced Linfield TV cameraman with enhanced back up support from our broadcast partner at 247.net

"This package is brought to our supporters with the approval of both NIFL and the IFA."

Fans will also have the opportunity to watch the game later in the weekend at a reduced cost.
