Linfield troll St Johnstone supporters over 'are you Rangers in disguise?' chant at Windsor Park

St Johnstone celebrated a friendly victory over Linfield at the weekend - but it the Windsor Park Blues who tried to have the last laugh on social media.

Tommy Wright's Saints claimed a 4-2 win in Belfast on Saturday, during which the visiting fans teased their hosts with chants of 'are you Rangers in disguise?'.

Not to be outdone, the people behind Linfield's official Twitter account hit back on the full-time whistle.

They tweeted: "St Johnstone fans singing 'are you Rangers in disguise'... They must have been looking at our honours board."

The tweet was accompanied by a winking face emoji and a trophy.

Linfield's trophy haul includes 53 titles and 43 Irish Cups, with countless other pieces of silverware having graced Windsor.

St Johnstone have one major honour - the Scottish Cup success in 2014 - but have won the second tier of Scottish football seven times as well as the Challenge Cup.
