Linfield troll St Johnstone fans over 'Rangers in disguise' jibe during friendly clash

St Johnstone were victorious on the park but it was Linfield who took the honours in the social media world after Saturday's friendly clash between the two sides in Belfast.

Tommy Wright 's men ran out 4-2 winners after an eventful 90 minutes at Windsor Park during which Saints fans teased their hosts with chants of 'are you Rangers in disguise?'

But they never reckoned for the quick-witted people in charge of the Irish League side's social media.

Right on full time the Linfield Twitter account hit back with a light-hearted retort.

They tweeted: " St Johnstone fans singing 'are you Rangers in disguise'... They must have been looking at our honours board."

The tweet was accompanied by a winking face emoji and a trophy.

Linfield have won an impressive 106 pieces of silverware in their 133-year history.

St Johnstone have won major honour - the Scottish Cup success in 2014 - but have won the second tier of Scottish football seven times as well as the Challenge Cup.
