Michael O’Connor is reportedly on the brink of a trial period with Scottish Premiership club Hibs.
According to Edinburgh Live, the 21-year-old - who spent the last few months on loan at Waterford in the League of Ireland - is on the Easter Road club’s radar.
O’Connor’s short three month loan deal at Waterford came to an end on Friday and he cannot play for Linfield until the January window opens.
And that could open the door for Hibs boss Paul Heckingbottom to have a look at the Republic of Ireland U21 forward.
Edinburgh Live has reported that the forward will spend a week at Hibs’ training ground in a bid to win a move to full-time football across the Irish Sea.
Hibs, who lie second bottom of the Premiership, have struggled for goals this season and haven't won a league game since the opening day of the season.
O'Connor started his career at Dundalk before moving to Shamrock Rovers where he had a loan spell with Finn Harps.
He then joined Linfield in July 2018 before moving to Waterford earlier this year.
He was previously linked with moves to Dundee and Ross County.
