Linfield midfielder Bastien Hery to join League of Ireland side Bohemians

Bohemians have completed the signing of Linfield midfielder Bastien Hery.

The Madagascar international - who was due to come out of contract this summer - had looked set to join St Patrick's Athletic before reaching agreement with the Dalymount Park outfit.

Hery joined Linfield in the summer of 2019, scoring three goals in 47 appearances for the Blues.

“Bastien is a high quality player with great experience, ability and personality," Bohemians boss Keith Long said.

“We are a young team and I believe these are some of the attributes we need to help us progress.”

Hery joined Linfield in July 2019 and made an instant impression in the club's European games that summer.

The midfielder established himself in the League of Ireland with Limerick before signing for Waterford where he has spent 18 months.

Hery also enjoyed five seasons in England with clubs including Rochdale and Carlisle United, having started his career at the Paris St-German's youth academy

Linfield boss David Healy said: “Bastien played a significant role in our European campaign and title success last season and he leaves the club with the very best wishes of all of us.

"I want to thank Bastien for his contribution during his time at the club and I want to wish him every success in his new challenge with Bohemians.”
