Linfield in talks to decide the number fans allowed to attend home leg of Champions League tie

Linfield are in talks with the "relevant stakeholders" to decide the number of fans to be allowed in to their Champions League first Qualifying round second leg at Windsor Park next week.

The Blues will only be able to use Windsor for UEFA games as the UEFA Super Cup final is being held at Windsor Park on August 11th between Champions League Winners Chelsea and Europa League winners Villareal.

In a club statement Linfield said: "Linfield are scheduled to play Zalgiris Vilnius at Windsor Park on Tuesday July 13 and in the wake of last week's welcome announcement by the NI Executive regarding the numbers permitted to be in attendance at outdoor events, Linfield FC is presently in discussions with the relevant stakeholders to determine the number of spectators that can be admitted to next week's Champions League game.

"Social distancing measures will be in place in the seating areas and the South Stand will not be in use for supporters for this game.

"Further ticketing details will be forthcoming as soon as the precise details have been finalised."

David Healy's men will play FK Zalgiris Vilnius tomorrow evening at 6pm and arrived in Lithuania on a chartered plane yesterday.

The return leg in Belfast, is Tuesday 13 July.

Linfield suffered a 3-0 defeat to Scottish outfit St Mirren in a friendly on Saturday at the Dub.
