Linfield double success recognised at Stormont

A Stormont reception has been held in recognition of Linfield's Double success.

Blues manager David Healy was joined by captain Jamie Mulgrew, chairman Roy McGivern and other club officials at the event hosted by North Down MLA Stephen Dunne.

Linfield clinched their 55th league title last season and went on to complete the double by beating Larne in the Irish Cup final.

"I was really pleased to host a reception for Linfield Football Club at Parliament Buildings to mark the success of the club last season 2020/21 in winning both the league title and the Irish Cup," said DUP representative Dunne.

"It was great to have both David Healy and Jamie Mulgrew along to recognise and honour their outstanding success last season, along with the club Chairman Roy McGivern and other club officials for a reception at Stormont.

'It is fitting and proper for dedicated sports people like David and Jamie, to be recognised and celebrated for their achievements and I was very proud to be able to host them along with club officials.

"David has done a tremendous job in leading Linfield to three league titles in a row including the double success last season, in an ever competitive league.

"Jamie continues to lead by example as captain, and is a real class act both on and off the pitch and is a great role model for young people."
