Linfield clinch 55th league title - how Twitter reacted

Linfield are champions for a 55th time.

Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Coleraine secured the Gibson Cup for David Healy's side.

It is Healy's second league and Irish Cup double since becoming boss in 2015.

It is the club's 25th double in their history.

And it's fair to say LInfield fans, players and former players are savouring the moment.

Many of them took to Twitter to celebrate.

Navid Nasseri, who joined the Blues last summer from Glentoran, simply tweeted: "CHAMPIONSSSSSSS!!!"

Defender Conor Pepper added: "Two trophies this week was it?"

Former LInfield captain Michael Gault tweeted: "Congratulations to all involved - great achievement!"

Ex-defender Chris Casement offered his congrats. He said: "#55 Congratulations @OfficialBlues."

Annagh United and Hanover FC both said "congratulations" while Mackster tweeted: "Congratulations, fantastic achievement."

Blueman will be celebrating tonight. He said: "Couldn’t breathe watching that injury time... what a team, the Belfast Linfield.. 55 titles going strong. Make mine a double."

BH added: "Yeeeesssssssss #Linfield #Champions number 55! Well done Wee Dee and the team. Super Linfield Super Blues."

Janty said: "Well done. Super effort lads."

Ashleigh reflected on the star names set to leave the club this summer, including Shayne Lavery, Andy Waterworth, Mark Haughey and Mark Stafford.

She said: "End of an era at Linfield. So many great players leaving this season."
