Linfield and Cliftonville announce open training sessions for young players

Linfield and Cliftonville are inviting young footballers to attend open training sessions during the month of May.

The Blues kick off their sessions next Wednesday, May 8 for players born in 2008, '09, '10 and '11.

"Linfield FC Youth Academy are inviting new players who were born in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 to come along to our open training sessions," the club said on its website.

"This is an opportunity to join our club as part of our ever growing academy for the 2019/20 season.

"Open training commences on Wednesday 8th May please contact the following coaches for details on each age group."

The coaches involved and contact numbers are:

Meanwhile, Cliftonville Football Development Centre will hold open training sessions later this month.

It will offer young players the opportunity to become a part of the club’s successful youth system.

Anyone wishing to be considered for next season’s FDC squads is asked to attend Solitude on the appropriate dates and times outlined below:

  • Players born in 2002: Sunday, May 19 (12pm)
  • Players born in 2003: Sunday, May 19 (12pm)
  • Players born in 2004: Monday, May 20 (7pm)
  • Players born in 2006: Monday, May 20 (7pm)
  • Players born in 2007: Wednesday, May 15 (7pm)
  • Players born in 2008: Wednesday, May 15 (6pm)
  • Players born in 2009: Monday, May 20 (6pm)
  • Players born in 2010: Monday, May 20 (6pm)
  • Players born in 2011: Monday, May 13 (6pm)
  • Players born in 2012: Monday, May 13 (6pm)
  • Players born in 2013: Monday, May 13 (6pm)
  • Players born in 2014: Monday, May 13 (6pm)

"All players are requested to bring their own boots (suitable for synthetic surface, with no metal studs or blades), shinpads and drinks," the club said on its official website.
