Linebacker K.J. Wright bound for Kenya to revisit wells he helped fund

With the Seattle Seahawks’ summer break in full swing, most players are taking time to visit with family and friends. Linebacker K.J. Wright is no different, except he’s taking those family and friends to Kenya on Thursday.

Wright and his crew, which is also comprised of former Seahawks teammates Mike Morgan and Tye Smith, are set to visit two of the wells Wright helped fund last summer on his first visit to Maasai Mara.

While there last year, Wright became determined to do something about the unhealthy drinking water for the residents so he partnered with Healing Hands International to initiate the building of the wells.

Wright was able to raise in excess of $75,000 for the effort, including the  $25,000 donation he received for being nominated for the 2018 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.  The additional money came from his own pocket as well as donations provided by fans and local businesses.

Stay tuned as Wright documents his international community service efforts on social media.
