Line of Duty trailer 'proves' Kate Fleming isn't dead

Line of Duty ended in another dramatic cliffhanger last night as Ryan Pilkington and Kate Fleming pointed their guns at each other.

The episode ended with the pair screaming at each other to drop their guns, the screen then went black and two shots could be heard ringing out.

Viewers were concerned that Kate might be dead after the shots were fired, but some very observant fans spotted a key scene in the trailer for the hit BBC show that proved Kate could live to see another episode.

In the scene Kate stands next to Jo Davidson and people were quick to point out it had not yet aired, proving that Kate survives the shoot-out.

Abi said: "So.. anyone remember the series 6 trailer?! Kate and jo standing together (wearing same clothes as last-nights ep) I reckon Ryan got shot. Then Jo Kidnaps Kate.. maybe or something but yeah, I think Kate survives!"

Mike Meets life said: "Line of Duty - my theory. Based on a previous trailer, Kate doesn't get shot. I think both her and Jo both shot Ryan. They go on the run trying to prove corruption whilst avoiding corrupt coppers throwing them in jail to silence them"

masonrydotie said: "My #LineOfDuty theory is...thinking about the trailer for the series there is a quick shot of Kate and Jo at the scene from last night...same clothes etc...we saw Ted saying in the trailer “you’ll have the full protection of the law”...Kate is ok."

And Sophie said: "Dog walk epiphany!!! Kate can’t be dead because we haven’t seen the scene from the trailer with her and Jo being held up by AC12!"

Today Adrian Dubar, who plays Superintendent Ted Hastings appeared on GMB and appeared to also confirm Kate was alive and well.

Adrian said: "Great cliffhanger again, Jed loves his cliffhangers. And a lot of LOD fans know [what's coming next for Kate]

Adil Ray said: "They’ve worked it out you mean?"

Adrian nodded his head and said: "A lot of Line of Duty fans know what’s going on. All will be revealed in the fullness of time."

Susanna Reid said: "I feel like you're giving us a really heavy piece of information that I can't for the life of me work out."

Adrian said: "Yes, there’s been a very big clue. I’m giving you a scoop. As the first guest back on the show, I am giving you a massive scoop.

"There’s a clue out there as to what happens next."

*Line of Duty continues at 9pm on BBC1 next Sunday
