Line of Duty Ted Hastings parody from Q Radio's Declan Wilson is a hit with fans

Line of Duty could potentially be coming to an end this weekend as fans wait to see if the AC-12 team catch the elusive H.

So to mark the final episode of the sixth series of the hit BBC show, Declan Wilson from Q Radio penned his own song dedicated to Adrian Dunbar's beloved character Ted Hastings.

The Line of Duty inspired number, Ted Sheeran's number 1 smash hit, 'AC-12 Team', has gone down a storm with fans since it was released on the breakfast show on Friday.

Set to Ed Sheeran's hit The A Team, Declan makes sure to get plenty of Ted's catchphrases in there and hopes the Enniskillen actor will get to watch and maybe even utter those famous words, 'Mother of God', when he sees it.

Speaking to Belfast Live, Declan said: "We in Northern Ireland just love ourselves and we love that Northern Ireland culture and humour and with Adrian Dunbar being the big Northern Irish character with all his catchphrases we thought we would give everyone a laugh.

"I wrote the lyrics in about two hours one morning during the week and we were listening to Ed Sheeran and it just made me think, Ted Sheeran."

Declan said the idea took on a life of its own and "exploded into something massive" after playing it on his show on Friday morning.

It has already caught the attention of star Vicky McClure who spotted it on Declan's social media and was quick to comment with her approval.

Declan added that it was another great way to boost spirits on a huge day for Northern Ireland as hospitality and retail opened their doors again.

Now his mission is to get Adrian Dunbar on his show to play the song to him.

"We are going to try our best to get him on the show," he said.

"Just to hear him say Mother of God when he sees it."
