Line Of Duty stars set for Celebrity Gogglebox appearance as part of Stand Up To Cancer

The stars of Line Of Duty are gearing up for their appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox.

Adrian Dunbar, Vicky McClure and Martin Compston will perch on the sofa together on Friday night as part of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

In a bid to raise money for charity, the trio said they are "honoured" to make their debut on the show.

Speaking to The Sun, Adrian – who plays Superintendent Ted Hastings on the hit BBC series - said: "It’s an honour to be part of the esteemed Gogglebox line-up."

Whilst Martin – who stars as Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott – added: "We had such a laugh filming Gogglebox."

And Vicky, who plays the role of Detective Inspector Fleming, agreed, adding: "I am really chuffed to be asked."

Their Celebrity Gogglebox appearance comes as filming for the upcoming sixth season of the drama series resumed in September.

Production was halted amid the pandemic, but cast and crew members are now finally back as they get filming for the sixth series underway.

Confirming the exciting news, showrunner Jed Mercurio said: "We know Line of Duty fans are desperate for series six and we hope we can get it on air as soon as possible.

"Thanks so much for your patience in these difficult times."

Speaking last month, Vicky said: "Been sitting on these incredible scripts for some time now, so I’m really looking forward to getting back to it and seeing the Line Of Duty family."

Newcomers Shalom Brune-Franklin, Perry Fitzpatrick, Andi Osho and Prasanna Puwanarajah are also set to star in the hit TV-series.

The Line Of Duty production team say they have been adhering to comprehensive protocols to ensure that the new series is produced in a safe and responsible manner.
