Line of Duty stars buy new kits for Belfast girls football teams

Two Belfast girls football teams have are to receive new kits ahead of next season thanks to the stars of Line of Duty.

The Under 13 and 15 girls teams at Belfast Celtic Young Men and Ladies have thanked Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar for the thoughtful gesture after they reached out to the team.

Martin even helped contribute to the design of the kits which will now be sponsored by AC-12.

Ryan Caddell, ladies first team manager, said they "cannot thank them enough" for their help with the new kits and that the girls were very excited to be playing in them next year.

He said: "One of our girls had put out on social media that we were in need of new sponsors for some of our girls teams kits.

"Martin seen the post and reached out to her to offer his help and then he was passed onto me and asked me what we needed.

"I explained that our under 13 and 15 teams needed new kits for next season and he said it was no problem and that he would get Vicky and Adrian onboard too.

"He sent us over the money later that day and we had a bit of a chat about the kit, sending designs back and forth to each other and then we got them ordered.

"We really can't thank the three of them enough. They've helped the girls out so much and they're all so excited to get back to play in their new kits!"

Responding to the news on Twitter, Martin Compston said: "Delighted we could help. Look forward to seeing the strip."
