Line of Duty star Taj Atwall has explained why she has gone missing from the BBC One police drama, after the sixth series started earlier this month.
Norwich-born actress Taj played PC Tatleen Sohota in the show, a new recruit in series five who helped DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) investigate their superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar).
But Line of Duty fans noticed PC Tatleen did not return in the latest series - and it's because Taj took on a new role and was forced to choose between them.
She won the role of Roxy Varma in The Syndicate, and the filming dates for the two shows coincided, leaving Taj to pick the former.
Kay Mellor's The Syndicate is returning to BBC One after five years away and also stars Neil Morrissey and Joe Sugg as members of a group of supermarket workers in Leeds who win a lottery jackpot.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Taj said: "I couldn’t make the dates work alongside The Syndicate, I had to choose and it was not an easy decision."
Host Nihal Arthanayake asked her if Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio was always calling her up, begging her to reconsider.

"It wasn’t like that! It’s not about that for me," she laughed. "Not at all like that, it was one conversation.
"I’m not about that, I always want to try something different, especially while I can.
‘The opportunity to play a completely different character, I just wanted to play something different.

It was not easy but, Kay is very hard to turn down because she is just so lovely, and I’ve worked with her so much previously.
"Roxy was a just completely different character for me to play and just challenge myself really," she added.
As the new series began earlier this month, one viewer tweeted: "Hey, just realised. Where's Tatleen? #LineofDuty ".
"Tatleen...Tatleen...Wherefore art thou, Tatleen? #LineofDuty," wondered another, while a third agreed: "I know. I'm heartbroken."
