Line of Duty star Stephen Graham insists he doesn't know who H is ahead of 90-minute thriller

Line of Duty actor Stephen Graham has confessed that he has no idea who H is, despite his character dedicating his career to tracking him down.

Graham joined the cast of the hit BBC drama as undercover officer John Corbett for series five but fans were left horrified when his character was murdered in cold blood at the end of episode four.

Corbett has infiltrated an organised crime group to try and get closer and closer to mysterious figure H but Graham has revealed that his role in the drama didn’t make him privy to finding out the shady figure’s true identity.

“On my ma’s life, no. I’m serious. I don’t know,” he told Jonathan Ross as he was quizzed on H during an appearance on his self-titled show.

Staying quiet: Stephen Graham refused to give anything away during his chat with Jonathan Ross (Brian J Ritchie/Hotsauce/REX)

The actor added: “I read the script but I’m not giving anything away.”

Graham, who has also starred in This Is England and Little Boy Blue, also revealed that he knew Corbett’s gruesome fate from the moment he was cast by Jed Mercurio.

“He said when he wrote it he had me in mind so that was a huge honour, someone like Jed. He’s very successful and he’s a fantastic writer,” he explained.

“He told me straightaway from the start what was going to happen to the character, which is why I found it was really interesting.”

Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby try to get Line of Duty spoilers from Rochenda Sandall

Graham was one of several new faces in the latest series, joining alongside Rochenda Sandall in the most vicious set of enemies AC-12 have faced to date.

Sandall, who plays Lisa McQueen, recently warned fans that they may not get to find out H’s identity after all when the series comes to an end with a 90-minute thriller this weekend.

“It will certainly have some form of conclusion, but as I’m sure you’re all aware, there’s still another series to go… and there’s lots of details…” she said on This Morning.

When quizzed by Schofield about whether or not H would be revealed, Sandall said: “I can’t tell you that! Come on!”

The Jonathan Ross Show airs Saturday at 9.15pm on ITV. Line of Duty concludes Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
