Line of Duty star Martin Compston nominated for TV Choice Award

Martin Compston has been shortlisted for an award along with his Line of Duty co-stars.

The TV Choice Awards have announced their shortlist and the BBC detective drama has made an impact as all three of the lead roles have been nominated.

Martin Compston who plays DS Steve Arnott is shortlisted as Best Actor as has Adrian Dunbar, best known for his role as Superintendent Hastings (like the wall).

Vicky McClure has been nominated as Best Actress and the whole series is shortlisted as Best Drama series.

The most recent season of Line of Duty was most anticipated and raked in around 12.8 viewers for it's divisive finale where the identity of 'H' was finally revealed after six seasons.

Greenock's Martin Compston now lives across the pond in LA but has been staying Edinburgh for filming.

He has often been spotted across the capital and even has a cocktail named after him following an awkward mix up where a fan tried to buy him a drink.

EdinburghLive previously reported that fans spotted him while celebrating his birthday in Rose Street Garden and sent him over a cosmopolitan.

Allegedly the Sweet Sixteen star responded: "How would that be my drink I’m fae Greenock I canny even spell cosmopolitan."

Now Rose Street Garden have their own cocktail in honour of the Scottish actor, naming it a Compston-Politan.

Maybe if he wins some awards at the TV Choice Awards, Martin will be back in the Rose Street Garden to give his a drink a go in celebration.

You can cast your vote for the TV Choice Awards here, until June 25.
