Line of Duty star Adrian Dunbar says he wants to play a baddie in Doctor Who, and has even created his own “evil genius” character.
The 60-year-old actor says: “I’d like to play a character, a very, dark, evil character, who runs the Doctor close.”
Adrian, who plays Supt Ted Hastings in BBC1’s hit drama, has even worked out the plot for his Doctor Who character.

He says: “The Doctor is trying to find out who this person is that’s orchestrating this nightmare that they’re beginning to find themselves in, and it’s obviously some evil genius.
“When the Doctor finds out, it’s all, ‘Of course, I should’ve known it would be Cybertex, or whatever his name is’. Then, I’d appear. ‘It took you a while, Doctor, didn’t it?’ – all that kind of stuff.

“I’d like to play a character like that, whose got an army of evil creatures at his beck and call. It’s some character the Doctor hasn’t seen for 20 years who they thought they’d killed in the mines of Boroslav.”
Adrian featured as a mercenary in a Doctor Who audio adventure with Paul McGann and Sheridan Smith.
