Line of Duty star Adrian Dunbar lets slip massive villain twist in new series

Line Of Duty star Adrian Dunbar has let slip a few secrets about the new series, including a massive twist involving his character.

Viewers are set to be stunned by shocking revelations as Superintendent Ted Hastings comes under scrutiny.

Speaking on today's Lorraine, Adrian admitted "it's not looking good for Ted" as the AC-12 boss is linked to the mysterious 'H'.

Outraged fans have already threatened to riot if Ted is exposed as a new super villain - and Adrian revealed "nobody is safe".

Speaking about the new series, he said: "At the end of the last episode of course there was this indication that maybe something was happening with Hastings.

"It's not looking good for Ted it has to be said. He does come under scrutiny in the new series.

"Nobody is safe. That's the way Jed Mercurio writes."

Adrian remained tight-lipped over whether guest star Stephen Graham would be playing a goodie or a baddie.

The actor revealed that co-star Vicky McClure is usually first to read the scripts and teases him and Martin Compston.

He said: "We get them in a drip drab way. We get the first block of six. Vicky is usually the first to read them of course.

"She'll text me and Martin going 'oh my God you’ll never guess whats happening to you in episode two'.

"She winds us up a bit."

Martin confessed there isn't much job security in his role as no one knows if their character will survive.

He told Lorraine: "Those twists and turns that happen - people really like. Also it makes you think. It's a show you have to work out.

"People like watching it in real time. Catch up is great but if you watch it in real time you can catch up at work and get the theories going with your friends."

However, there is uncertainty as to whether he will be back as Ted.
