Line of Duty sparks cop-related kinky role play as sales for Vicky McLure style blazers and handcuffs soar

Line of Duty has seen a rise in kinky police role play requests from people wanting to spice up their sex life following the top cop drama.

The characters played by Vicky McLure and Scotland's own Martin Compston have ignited a flame in viewers that has been smouldering over recent weeks.

And as passions reached a fervent high for the big finale on Sunday, we can reveal that searches for police related accessories for the bedroom have soared.

It's something that would no doubt make Ted Hastings and the rest of his team utter Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkeys as the laugh into their cuppas.

Finn Communications in London analysed Google search data to find out what’s making Brits tick ahead of the series’ climax on Sunday.

(BBC)

They found that as the first episode aired on Sunday 21 st March at 9pm, searches for 'sex handcuffs' increased by a huge 9,900%.

Last Sunday (April 25)), the series’ penultimate episode aired at 9pm and between 10pm and 3am, Google searches for 'sexy police costume' increased by 1,567%, while 'sex handcuffs' soared by 733%.

Since the series' return, there's also been a 96% increase in searches for 'sexy police'.

People have said online that, throughout the series, they've had trouble sleeping as they tried to negotiate the many complex twists and turns in the plot, but now this gives a very different meaning to their claims.

There's also been a rise in demand for the iconic blazer as everyone wants to emulate their favourite detective inspector Kate Fleming played by Vicky McClure.

In a separate survey, PrettyLittleThing has revealed that searches on site for "blazers" have risen a humongous 144% in the past few weeks, showing that Line of Duty isn't only getting hearts racing for the drama but also the fashion moments too.

And to add to the demand, the clothing company also found that searches for leather blazers have risen 708% in the past couple of months showing the power of the all-mighty blazer.
