Line Of Duty's Vicky McClure is desperate for her wedding to happen after delays

Line Of Duty star Vicky McClure admitted she's desperate for her wedding to happen following a series of delays.

The actress, 37, has been engaged to her fiancé Jonny Owen since he got down on one knee in 2017.

In a new interview, Vicky explained her chaotic filming schedule meant 2019 was off the cards for the couple getting married.

However, coronavirus has been hampering the lovebirds with further delays since then and 2021 seems "like a write-off".

She told The Sunday Times' Style magazine: "I’d dreamt about getting married since I was a kid. I love the concept of marriage, I love the concept of a wedding, I’m a sucker for love. So I’m desperate for it to happen."

Vicky has yet to make any concrete decisions on her wedding planning, whether it will be abroad or a "full-blown church" wedding.

What she does know is she wants a "nice white dress" for the occasion.

She told the publication: "I'd come up with crazy ideas, then look at the logistics and go absolutely no. I definitely want a nice white dress."

Admittedly the worst part of her high-flying acting career is "being away from home", away from her love Jonny.

So it comes as no surprise Vicky said "in terms of our relationship" she has "loved lockdown" with her partner.

The actress will return to our screens in spring this year for the sixth instalment of Line Of Duty.

She will return to her well-loved role as Detective Inspector Kate Fleming in the dark world of Line Of Duty.

The hit BBC show also stars Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston (BBC)

Last December, Vicky opened up about what it's really like behind the scenes of Line Of Duty on set with the star-studded cast.

She said on BBC Breakfast: "We have a lot of fun and I have to say, in these times, it was difficult because I was away from home for three months solid which is the longest I’ve ever done.

"It’s like going from family to family, we’ve been working together now for near on 10 years, it was a lot of fun and we always try and make it a good place to work.

"We have a great cast, we’ve got some new great people in the show as well; Kelly McDonald, Perry Fitzpatrick, lots of very good people."
