Line of Duty's Vicky McClure calls out 'hungover' Martin Compston amid season 7 news

Line of Duty's Vicky McClure called out her co-star Martin Compston for being 'hungover' on Friday's Good Morning Britain.

The actors appeared on the ITV breakfast show live from Tring in Hertfordshire ahead of this weekend's Soccer Aid game - but it seems it was a bit too early for 38-year-old Martin.

GMB hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway were keen to ask the pair about the possibility of a seventh season of Line of Duty.

Referring to Martin's Instagram post earlier this week which showed him and Vicky out having a meal with co-star Adrian Dunbar and Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio, Ben asked for an update.

"Nothing's planned as yet we just went out for a nice meal," Martin said. "Nothing planned or set in stone."

Vicky then added: "We always have a long break in between series, and we're chuffed that people still want us to come back.

"We adore working with each other, Jed's writing is phenomenal, we've been working together for over 10 years now and the last series was incredible in terms of the response we got," she continued.

"But it was really quite tough to shoot because obviously it was within Covid so it would be lovely to go back and sort of end on that kind of way."

Martin then jumped back in and said: "As Vick says, there's no... for a sociable night out, it's not a reason to recommission a massive series but it's such a sociable job in terms of the crew and all of us hanging out.

"I think we were the first job back over Covid and we couldn't see each other, we couldn't hang out at night, we couldn't do anything, so it wouldn't really be a great way to end it. It's not the way we commission a job..."

Ben then chimed in and said: "Martin you say that, you say that, stranger decisions have been made with less drinks involved, trust me!" as Kate added: "Exactly! I've been convinced to do all sorts of things on a lot less!"

Martin replied: "Well, you can tell me right now, there's a lot of strange decisions last night, this is very early boy!" as Vicky quickly confirmed: "Someone's a bit hungover!"

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV Hub.
