Line of Duty's Tommy Jessop 'steals show' as BBC series wins Best Returning Drama at NTAs

Line of Duty star Tommy Jessop 'stole the show' at the National Television Awards as the BBC series won Best Returning Drama.

The BBC series beat other nominations including Call The Midwife, The Crown as well as Unforgotten.

The cast, including Gregory Piper and the iconic Tommy, stood as producer Simon Heath thanked the crowd.

"It's great to be rewarded with this. Line of Duty six was probably our most ambitious series and it was filmed in the middle of a global pandemic so it couldn't have been done without this fantastic team some of who are here today," he said.

It was at that moment when Tommy started hilariously gyrating his hips on stage, much to the joy of the others on stage.

As the crowd cheered him on, Tommy knelt to the floor and posed like a bodybuilder.

In seasons five and six of the popular series, the star plays Terry Boyle, a person who got tricked into storing a dead body in his freezer.

He is even framed for murder and it's not even all he had to go through in the entire series.
