Line of Duty has been off of our television sets for quite a few months but dedicated fans are still hankering for some of the show’s classic catchphrases, most of which are ushered by AC-12’s top dog Ted Hastings.
Quotes such as “There’s only one thing I’m interested in and that is catching bent coppers”, “mother of God” and “Now we’re sucking diesel” are likely to go down as some of the greatest lines in TV history but I bet not even the writers of the show would have considered Hastings could cut it as a snooker commentator.
Yes, snooker commentary. Now, if you’ve ever watched live snooker you’ll be well aware that it requires a hushed tone and an incredible amount of patience as these professional snooker games are often not short affairs.
Therefore, Hastings and his fierce interrogation skills might not be the best person for the job but that didn’t stop comedian Matt Highton from dubbing some of Hastings’ best quotes over the top of a shot that snooker legend John Higgins recently took at the British Open.
