Line of Duty actor Gregory Piper was left anxious about spoiling the whole new series by revealing plot details during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Friday.
The young actor who plays mysterious Ryan Pilkington, the character who has made a shock return to the hit BBC drama for series 6, joined hosts Ben Shephard and Ranvir Singh to talk about what has happened so far in the new run, while desperately trying to not spoil anything for any avid fans who tuned in.
Ben revealed that Gregory was under "strict instruction" from Line of Duty director Jed Mercurio and everyone on the show not to give anything away, asking him how it felt to be "walking a tightrope" of talking about the new series and knowing what happens but without giving anything away.
Gregory replied: "Very anxiously...errr...I just want to tell everyone.
"But it will be so much better when everyone watches it."
Ryan appeared in an earlier series of Line of Duty as a troubled youth who came to the AC12's attention after being kidnapped and involved in stealing phones, as well as trying to cut off DS Steve Arnott' s fingers with a pair of bolt cutters.
Things took a much more sinister turn for Ryan in series 5 when, after John Corbett infiltrated an Organised Crime Group, Ryan slit his throat after he fell into a trap set by its villainous members.

So it came as huge surprise that at the end of the last series, Ryan revealed he had enrolled as a student police officer and was then seen in episode 2 of the new run in a briefing at Hillside Station.
Speaking about the fact he was a young actor in the first series and is now back, Gregory said: “(I had) absolutely no idea at all It was this absolute magical land as a kid that I got to visit and call it work.
"After that I thought that was amazing and I hope I get to experience something like that again. Never in a million years did I think that Ryan would be coming back. It was a massive shock.”
Ranvir then put it to Gregory that some Line of Duty viewers are finding the storyline rather tough to follow and asked are we meant to be confused, to which he replied: “Yeah, we don’t want all the answers at the moment.”
