Line of Duty's Ryan actor Gregory Piper's brilliant comeback to GMB hosts asking who 'H' is

Millions of us are hooked on every twist and turn of Line of Duty's sixth series.

The gripping BBC One cop drama returned to screens last month and this weekend we approach the half-way mark of the brand new series.

And one of the star's very much on everyone's radar is Gregory Piper, who plays PC Ryan Pilkington.

Ryan is not new to AC-12 as he featured in the very first series as an innocent young lad getting caught up in the world of crime after being recruited by gang leader Tommy Hunter and was even involved in the kidnapping of Steve Arnott.

He reappeared last series as a member of member of the OCG being led by Lisa McQueen and undercover cop John Corbett.

Now, for the brand new series, he's turned bent copper after joining the force and making his way onto Joanne Davison's Murder Investigation Team.

Gregory, who plays Ryan, appeared on Friday's Good Morning Britain to chat to hosts Ben Shephard and Ranvir Singh.

But he wasn't allowed to give ANYTHING away.

He wasn't allowed to tell Ben and Ranvir too much - even though they tried (ITV)

Of treading the line of having to keep the secrets of the show, he said: "Very anxiously. I just want to tell everyone. It will be so much better when everyone watches it, so really trying to hold onto that."

However, he had a brilliant response to the hosts who asked for details on the corrupt and mysterious 'H' who his key to Ac-12's mission.

"And of course you are about to tell us who H is," Ranvir said. "I mean, just do that for us won't you before you go."

To which Gregory expertly replied: "Well, you've seen what happens to a rat," leaving the hosts laughing.

"Ahhh," Ben instantly responded. "That's very true, he's practised that line hasn't he," Ranvir retorted.
