Line of Duty's Martin Compston up for best actor at TV Choice Awards as BBC drama leads way

Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the wee donkey - Line of Duty has taken the top spot at this year TV Choice Awards nominations for yet another year.

The BBC's top-ranking drama - which raked in over 12 million viewers for its season six finale - had viewers hooked as AC-12 worked to uncover who the corrupt 'H' really was.

The stars of the show have been praised since the beginning for their outstanding performances having been nominated for over 40 awards throughout the years.

So it's safe to say they're definately a talented bunch - see what I did there?

Vicky McClure (Kate Fleming) has been nominated for best actress while Greenock's own Martin Compston (Steve Arnott) and Adrian Dunbar (Ted Hastings) will go head-to head for the best actor - but who will win?

I think we can all agree Jed Mercurio's champagne casting has paid off as Line of Duty has also nominated for Best Drama Series.

Other favourites to win this year are Channel 4's It’s A Sin for Best New Drama starring Olly Alexander who is also nominated for Best Actor. He'll go head-to-head with Compston and Dunbar.

We also have a Line of Duty quiz to test if you really are a true expert on sniffing out 'bent coppers'

This year's shortlists can be voted on until midnight on June 25 before this year's TV Choice Awards winners are announced online during a virtual awards ceremony on September 6.
