Line of Duty's Martin Compston tweets rude story after his face appears in Times Square

Martin Compston was buzzing about seeing his face on a Times Square billboard as he told a rude story about the first time he made it onto a poster.

The Line of Duty star shared a pic of the Britbox Times Square promotional banners on his Instagram.

A fan then sent him a picture of his face on one, on Twitter, as it advertised the sixth series of the hit cop drama in New York.

The fan wrote: "Didn’t expect to see Martin Compston's puss in Times Square. Big time," Greenock born Martin decided to answer by telling him a funny but rude story.

Martin replied: "Probably less chance of a c*** and b**** drawn on me like my first ever billboard at Barr’s Cottage, Greenock, but equally proud moment."

Following his revelation, fans had a good chuckle but many thought he was laying down the gauntlet for them to give it a try.

One said: "Now are you sure you're not gonna regret tweeting that given the challenge you've just laid down?"

Another added: "I've offered my mate that stays their a £100 2 give it a try tho

Someone else chirped: "Yir never too big for a c*** and b**** drawn on you."

And another asked: "Is that not Glaswegian way of telling you they love you asking for a friend from Edinburgh?"

One fan even decided to do a virtual version mocked up on his computer but we, like Martin, are still waiting for the real thing, should someone be silly enough to vandalise it.
