Line of Duty's low-key star who has appeared in almost every major show on TV

Line Of Duty is brimming with exceptional talent – from the writers of the hit crime drama to the actors who portray the thrilling storylines.

While fans will be familiar with the show’s three main stars - Vicky McClure, Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar - there’s another actress appearing on the BBC series who has made a huge name for herself in the TV industry.

Elizabeth Rider, 63, has appeared in almost every major show on TV in recent years, having shown up on EastEnders, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and Doctor Who.

The TV actress has also enjoyed stints in Midsomer Murders, Emmerdale and BBC soap opera Doctors.

The low-key character first entered the series in 2019 to replace Mike Dryden as Deputy Chief Constable.

While her appearances were short and sweet during the last series of the hit crime show, Elizabeth has been given a lot more air time in series six so far.

The actress dominated the screen in the first episode of the brand new series when she engaged in a serious chat with Superintendent Ted Hastings in the AC-12 lobby.

Hastings rushed to apologise to DCC Wise about his absence from an important conference as he blamed his office for not passing on the invitation.

Viewers were left stunned by Andrea’s savage reply when she barked back, claiming he was never invited to the event in the first place, despite his rank in the police force.
