Kelly Macdonald reckons she doesn't think her character would return for another season of Line of Duty.
The Glasgow-born actress, who is best known for her roles in Trainspotting, Nanny McPhee and Brave, didn't seem convinced she would return for a seventh season of the hit BBC drama.
Fans of the hit show are on the edge of their seats waiting for another season of the Martin Compston crime drama after the explosive season six finale revealed the mysterious 'H'.
Despite the hugely successful series bringing in a whopping 15.24 million viewers, show writer Jed Mercurio is yet to confirm another series and previously confessed there was "no plan in place" for future episodes.
Kelly played a new character, DCI Jo Davidson, in the sixth season alongside Martin, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar.
The Scottish actress discussed the show with RadioTimes.com when being interviewed for her new film Operation Mincemeat.
Kelly said: "I don't think my character will be back," but refused to rule it out completely adding, "I suppose it’s a possibility at some point.
“I have to say that Line of Duty for me was a very odd experience because of Covid.
"It was strange days and it feels there's life before Covid and life after, and Line of Duty was right at that point for me.”
Speculation about a seventh season of the show has been rife ever since the finale aired, with many cast members expressing their enthusiasm.
Vicky McClure told The Guardian: "There’s no word of it. I think we’ve all been really honest and said should that happen, we’re all game."
She doesn't know if and when the hit BBC show will come to an end, however, revealing that when it does it'll be a "big blow" for everyone.
