Line of Duty's 'H' lines up TV show appearance the day after series six finale

Corrupt cop ‘H’ looks set to get his or her comeuppance in BBC ratings juggernaut Line of Duty on Sunday night.

And the actor behind the mysterious bent copper will face more questioning the following day when he or she appears on This Morning over on ITV.

The star booking was confirmed on Friday’s edition of the morning show by host Alison Hammond.

She said – to the visible shock of co-host Dermot O’Leary – “Following Line of Duty’s Sunday night show we’re going to have “H” on the sofa.”

Now, to make sure there was no confusion as to who ‘H’ referred to, Alison stressed that it wasn’t H from Steps – aka Ian ‘H’ Watkins.

This Morning is on Bank Holiday Monday from 10am to 12.30pm.

The BBC has enjoyed huge audiences and critical acclaim for this sixth series of Line of Duty, which has been a Sunday night highlight for millions as Britain slowly emerges from lockdown restrictions.

The seventh episode promises to reveal the ‘Fourth Man or Woman’, believed to be a senior police officer working in cahoots with the OCG (Organised Crime Group).

In the brief tease for the seventh and climactic episode of this series, the BBC says: “With time running out, AC-12 attempt to unmask 'H', the Fourth Man (or Woman) commanding the network of corrupt officers behind the murder of Gail Vella.

“But sinister and powerful forces appear intent on orchestrating a cover-up.”

Line of Duty fans confused over crucial detail of series finale

There is also speculation about the fates of the show’s Holy Trinity of DI Steve Arnott (Martin Compston), DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) and Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar).

The motivation of DCI Jo Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) and Detective Chief Superintendent Patricia Carmichael (Anna Maxwell Martin) is also eagerly speculated upon.

Line of Duty concludes on BBC One at 9pm on Sunday, May 2. Previous episodes and series are available on iPlayer.
