Who is 'H' on Line of Duty? Real-life undercover cop reveals identity - and it's not a person

Line of Duty fans have been agonising over the identity of 'H' - and a real-life undercover cop thinks he has the answer.

Viewers have been trying to guess which character is the mysterious villain - a corrupt officer working for the police and secretly heading a criminal organisation.

However, former undercover detective Peter Bleksley believes 'H' is not a person and is actually a PLACE.

Speaking on This Morning, he said: "Is it a person or is it a place? Cast your mind back to the flats where people were being held. One was flat B. Just putting it out there."

Peter was talking about the flats, which formed the shape of the letter 'H' from above, that were being used to hold women being sex trafficked by the nasty OCG.

Serving Detective Sergeant Marc Cananur said he was reserving judgement on the identity of 'H' to avoid humilation.

The DS said every police force has the equivalent of AC12, but pointed out it is an "entertainment" programme.

Admitting he was a fan, he said: "It's entertainment and people would be turning off in their droves if they had to see what we deal with on a daily basis.

"Every police force has the equivalent of AC-12. An internal department which investigates any form of corruption. Like AC-12 we have professionals who will diligently investigate and prosecute appropriately."

Peter was an undercover cop for over 10 years in the 80s and 90s when organised criminals were becoming more sophisticated.

He said: "I was young, fearless and probably foolish. I thought I was on the side of the angels doing the right thing. And I was a very good lair – which is a prerequisite for going undercover."

Peter's job was to turn organised crime groups into disorganised rabbles by feeding back intelligence.

He recalled one horrific situation where he was taken into a basement restaurant by some criminals.

The bouncer at the door was carrying a gun - but things took a bad turn.

Peter realised that the waitress was someone he had arrested a few months ago.

During his career he was involved in drugs, guns and murder plots.
